ASTM C165

ASTM C165 - Compressive Properties of Thermal Insulations

ASTM C165 is a standard test method used to measure the compressive resistance of thermal insulation materials. This standard covers two methods procedures to determine how insulation material performs under mechanical stress:

  • Procedure A covers thermal insulation that has a straight-line portion of a load-deformation curve.
  • Procedure B covers thermal insulation that becomes increasingly stiffer as the load increases.

These procedures evaluate the compressive properties across different insulation types. For more information about this test method, visit the official ASTM website.
