EN ISO 527 – Plastics: Determination of Tensile Properties
EN ISO 527 is an international standard that specifies the test methods for determining the tensile properties of plastics, including tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation at break, and stress–strain behavior. The standard applies to a wide range of plastic materials in the form of moulded specimens, sheets, films, and other standardized shapes.
The procedure involves preparing test specimens, gripping them securely in a tensile testing machine, and applying a controlled tensile load until failure. These measurements help evaluate the mechanical performance, quality, and suitability of plastic materials for their intended applications.
Bent Tram A/S supplies complete testing systems and extensometers designed to meet the requirements of EN ISO 527, ensuring accurate and repeatable tensile testing of plastics.
For more information about this test method, please visit the official DS (Danish Standards) website.
